Split system cooling

Split system cooling

When your data center is in a location where ambient pollution and varying humidity can cause problems, or in a space with constraints that prevent using more traditional air economizers, then split system cooling is an ideal solution. With split systems, the cooling section is typically very compact, and can be located in a different place than the heat rejection section. This provides expanded installation flexibility when compared with typical packaged solutions, especially for multi-story facilities.

The benefits

Split cooling systems have many benefits, including:

  • Eliminating air duct penetrations through building envelope
  • Flexibility of installation, since heat load is transported with fluid (such as water, glycol or refrigerant) in smaller pipes compared to large volumes of air through ductwork
