From production straight into the cold storage
Plates of collagen are made first when producing face masks. The product goes directly into -25C cold storage after solidification in the sheet production machine. The machinery for subsequent production steps is located inside the cold storage area to ensure high product quality and consistency. The production process encountered a significant problem during the regular transport of finished collagen sheets from the production area into the cold storage area. Since the production area was warmer and more humid the movement of the product tracked in a significant amount of moist air upon entering the cold storage area. When this infiltrating moisture hit the cold surfaces inside the cold storage area it quickly turned to ice and frost throughout the entire cold storage area (at doors, on evaporator fins, on production machinery, etc). As a result, facility personnel regularly had to defrost the cold storage area, disrupting production and increasing maintenance costs.
The Munters solution
This issue was solved by installing a Munters Icedry 800 inside the cold store. Air from the cold store was recirculated through the IceDry 800, dehumidified and blown down the two door openings like dry air curtains. The cold storage area is now free from ice and snow thanks to the Munters IceDry 800. Production and storage are now free from moisture-related problems.
