From a backyard lab in Stockholm to a battery production facility in Japan
The story of Munters begins eight kilometers north of Stockholm city. Here, in a residential area called Stocksund, Carl Munters and his team laid the foundation for a company that soon became a global leader in climate control.

Efficiency and sustainability in focus
When Panasonic planned a pilot facility for large-scale battery production in Japan, they needed a flexible, global partner to meet their specific requirements. They found their match in Munters.
Battery production demands an ultra-dry and clean environment, with dew points as low as –40 to –60°C, equivalent to less than 100 ppm moisture. Munters provided energy-efficient dehumidification solutions that ensured optimal conditions while minimizing energy consumption and carbon footprint.
Konishi-san, Head of Panasonic's Environmental Systems & Engineering department, emphasized why Munters stood out:
"The efficiency and quality of their products made them stand out from the rest."

A partnership for the future
With a strong global presence and the ability to adapt to unique customer needs, Munters has become a trusted partner for Panasonic.
“With climate change, the weather conditions in South-East Asia is going to change and become a lot wetter which will put a lot more pressure on our equipment,” Konishi-san says. “I look forward to seeing how Munters develops its products to tackle the challenge and meet our future needs.”
Munters journey from a backyard lab in Sweden to a key player in global battery production is a testament to our commitment to innovation and sustainability. As we celebrate our 70th anniversary, we look forward to continuing this legacy and driving success for our customers worldwide.
