Process fan upgrade for MX series dehumidifiers
Energy savings beyond 50%
Process fans on older Munters MX dehumidifiers are operating with AC induction motors. But you will enjoy energy savings of 50%, or more, if you upgrade your Munters MX dehumidifier to a modern, more energy efficient EC (Electronic Commutator) fan.
The EC fan uses an electronically controlled stator field, enabling precise 0-100% proportional control without induction. Control methods include pressure transducer or manual potentiometer, with voltage options of 0-10vdc or 4-20mA.
EC fan upgrade benefits:
- Energy consumption reduced by 50%
- Return on investment (ROI) of less than 2 years
- Green Tech energy efficient fan motor
- Flexible fan motor design allows for horizontal or vertical discharge
Process fan upgrade at British Sugar
At British Sugar's Cantley plant, UK, seven dehumidifiers are in operation 8,500 hours per year. To save energy a fan upgrade of the MXT 2800 was chosen as a pilot project. The upgrade involved replacing the original fan, ductwork modification, mounting an EC fan assembly, and adjusting the process fan switchgear. With an 8.5p per kWh electricity cost, the ROI is less than 2 years.
