"Here I get to work on important projects"

Getting the chance to work on meaningful projects right after graduation is far from guaranteed – but at Munters, it’s a reality. Here, young professionals at the start of their careers face challenges that truly inspire and make an impact. For Shawn, Olle, and Xiaoqi, Munters has become a place where they both grow and contribute to innovative climate solutions.

“Right from day one, I got to work on projects that really matter,” says Shawn Nagar from India, who is still studying embedded systems at KTH. When he met Munters at the Armada fair, he was pleasantly surprised to meet the engineering team and see their products, rather than just recruiters.

“It felt professional and genuine, and I got to speak with people from the embedded systems team. That led to interesting discussions and gave me a clear picture of what Munters does.”

Shawn later reached out via LinkedIn to apply for a summer job, which quickly turned into a part-time position. He now works on developing wireless control units for Munters dehumidifiers, used in industries worldwide. From the beginning, he was given responsibility for projects involving the development of graphical user interfaces for testing programs. The data presentations and graphs he creates help the development team make informed decisions in product development.

Olle Aronsson from Sweden, who recently graduated in mechanical engineering with a focus on innovation and design, had a similar start. At Munters, he works on developing the DSS Pro system, an advanced dehumidification system used in factories to control the manufacturing environment for batteries, pharmaceuticals, and more.

“It was surprising how well I was received as a recent graduate,” says Olle. “I’m part of a small, agile team where we learn from each other, regardless of experience level. The senior engineers have given me both the space to grow and the support I need.”

His work involves optimizing and streamlining the system by reducing the number of configurations for the rotor, the heart of the system responsible for drying the air.

Xiaoqi Song from China works in industrial design and sees her role as a bridge between different departments within the company.

“Industrial design is a relatively new function at Munters,” she explains. “But we’re seeing the role grow as the company’s understanding of user experience expands. In my job, it’s important to listen to people while also daring to challenge established ways of working.”

Xiaoqi works closely with the embedded systems team to develop the user interface for a product that allows users to control their climate systems. Every other week, the team meets to ensure the project develops according to user expectations, tests the product, and evaluates the results.

“The collaboration works very well and allows us to develop and create products that actually make a difference.”
