From a backyard lab in Stockholm to a data center facility in Ireland
The story of Munters begins eight kilometers north of Stockholm city. Here, in a residential area called Stocksund, Carl Munters and his team laid the foundation for a company that soon became a global leader in climate control.

A reliable and efficient cooling solution
Today, Munters supports the data center industry with its cutting-edge expertise in cooling technologies. In Ireland — a hub for many US hyperscalers — Munters collaborated with the Office of Public Works (OPW) to equip its data center. The OPW needed a highly energy-efficient cooling solution to ensure secure and sustainable data storage for policy implementation support. Their choice: Oasis, Munters indirect evaporative cooling system.
In total, 14 Oasis units have been installed at the OPW facility, delivering reliable and efficient performance.
“The data industry is risk-averse, and one of the best ways to minimize risk is to use a system that's easy to run and maintain,” says Craig MacFadyen, Director of Offer Strategy and Portfolio Management Data Center Technologies at Munters. “That’s why Oasis is so attractive. In addition to being incredibly energy-efficient, it is designed to reduce the amount of mechanical cooling — which is often the source of system failures.”
