Munters joins Data Center Nation panel discussion

At the recent Data Center Nation event in Zurich, Craig MacFadyen, Director of Offer Strategy and Portfolio Management at Munters, joined Shahar Belkin and Mauro Luppi for a panel moderated by Eoin Crowley to discuss the evolving landscape of data center cooling. The panel emphasized the industry's shift toward liquid cooling, particularly two-phase systems, to address escalating heat densities and improve efficiency. Craig highlighted Munters SyCool thermosyphon technology as a groundbreaking waterless cooling solution designed to eliminate water use while achieving incredibly low PUE levels of 1.01 to 1.03.

The discussion explored the challenges and opportunities in implementing liquid cooling, including new refrigerants with lower global warming potential and their sustainability benefits. Craig underscored Munters adaptability in engineering flexible solutions, such as Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs), to meet varying customer needs. He also pointed to the rise of AI factories driving unprecedented growth, with the potential to double market demand within five years. The panel concluded by emphasizing the importance of flexible, integrated designs to future-proof data centers in this rapidly evolving sector.
